I Hate Sweater Weather

Loves and Lovers! What’s really good? It’s been a long time, I shouldn’t have left you with a dope post to step too. (Leave me a crown emoji on my IG page if you read that in Timbaland’s voice.) I was going to come back with a long and insightful post about why I took a break but it’s not really needed. Y’all already know what happens in this blogging world. You feel uncreative, you start comparing yourself to others, the IG algorithm starts to play you and the reasons go on and on. I made a promise to myself though, as long as I know this is my passion and my calling I will keep going and keep pushing. With that said, what better time to come back on the blogging scene then fall? Right!

Fall is the time when you can express your fashion freedom and not pass out from the heat. Spring will always be my favorite time of year, probably because it’s my birthday season, but fall is a close second. The leaves magically changing colors, the crisp wind in the morning, pumpkin spice EVERYTHING and sweaters and boots to slay the lower temps. For me though, I have a love-hate relationship with one of those things on the list, sweaters.

For as long as I can remember, I have hated sweaters. Mock neck, turtle neck, cable knit, thick, thin, they all have been on my “worst fashion picks,” list for myself. This year though, I am determined to turn that around. I realized the potential of a sweater. They can add a chicness and classic feel or edgy flare to your look which are all up my alley. With this new discovery I have been on the hunt for sweaters to fit my style. Today I am sharing my top 5 places (in no order) to find the cutest sweaters:

  • Old Navy. For my preppy girls who love a classic look I have found that Old Navy gives you just what you need. A sweater to last over the years.
  • Forever21. My relationship with Forever21 has changed drastically over the years but I still find those trendy pieces at a reasonable price (for the most part) here and sweaters are no different.
  • Asos. I mean Asos is one of my go-to places for everything! SO why wouldn’t I check them for sweaters first. I would say also check their outlet section first because I found a beautiful cable knit sweater for $26 there.
  •  Discount stores such as Ross, TJ Maxx, Marshalls, and Burlington. I group these together because they all fall under the discount store label to me. You can find trendy pieces or classic pieces with ease at these stores for good prices. These are stores I fill like anybody can stop at and find something that they are looking for. Sweaters are no different.
  • Thrift Stores. If you followed me from Youtube to the blog then you already know that thrifting has always been my jam. You can find dope vintage sweaters or new sweaters at amazing prices. I consider stores like Plato’s Closet and Rag-a-Ramba (Atlanta based) thrift stores also. With Thrift stores you can find any thing for a great price. Don't have the patience for thrifting? Try online thrift stores.

*Bonus: Ok sis, don’t @ me with this bonus ok. H&M. I know, I know but listen. H&M has some great sweaters at reasonable prices. Trendy, classic, edgy, chic, you can find it all.  Now for my plus girls, online is the best option but it’s always worth a shot in-store as well.

These are the places that I have had success with lately. I know there are tons of others out there and as I keep on my sweater hunt I will keep you all updated over on my IG @thecurvygirlchronciles. This mustard yellow mock neck sweater from Old Navy won my heart over. It’s comfy and classic. Paired with a leather skirt (very on trend) and my favorite fall color, maroon, I can’t get enough of this look. Do you have a sweater store or website that you shop at? Let me know in the comments. Until next post, y’all be blessed and remember your favor! It isn’t meant to be fair.
