Chains & Ankara

Here I go again being trendy but not on purpose, I promise. The Ankara print is everywhere right now and let’s face it, it’s become a trend! Everybody and they mama are either selling it, wearing it or both. But what’s crazy is that it seems to bring black folks, as a community closer together and please don’t say you haven’t noticed it. Fashion can do things like that, bring people together and even help them to embrace their own culture.

Right now it a difficult time for black people in America and we need to strand together and love on one another. So if a print on clothing is going to bring us closer together than I am all for it. I just wanted to make sure I got my two cents in on it and honey this top gave more than two cents worth of fashion, Ankara slay.

This outfit made me feel strong and proud to be a black woman, which I need little help doing. From my natural hair in the top knot, to the bodycon skirt hugging my curves, to the heels making me strand tall! I was in love with every minute of it!

Now don’t get it twisted, I don’t need a piece of clothing to make me feel those ways. It has taken a lot of mental, physical and emotional healing to do that but this outfit just amped it up a little. Plus in a time when being black can be a downfall but yet so powerful, why not embrace it?

Being black isn’t a crime and I will not be ashamed of it!
