Trench Coat Lover

I am a southern girl at heart but I will always have that touch of mid-west swing running through my veins. One of the reasons I love the south is because it was my belief that the south doesn’t get as cold as my hometown of Decatur, IL. Well this winter Mother Nature definitely has shown me that she can blow her winds wherever she would like and I just better be prepared. The weather has been so up and down, one day its 70 degrees then the next its 19 degrees so you never know what to wear.

I have a strong love for trench coats but the ones I have aren't really the heaviest so hadn't been able to really wear one with this crazy weather. So on Saturday I was finally able to pull out this beautiful thrifted trench (Thank you Mother Nature).  I had a baby shower to attend and already had my outfit picked out but didn’t know what coat I was going to put on. I reached to the back of the closet and felt the dry cleaner plastic and knew that it was fate that I wear this jacket.

I decided on this outfit for the shower because it was casual, comfortable and real relaxed. I paired my distressed jeans with a cream colored sweater and my knee high riding boats. I couldn’t decide between a scarf or a necklace but I ended up wearing this leopard printed scarf to add some pattern to the outfit. I completed this look with none other than my tan trench coat to pull it together.

I’m not sure when will I get to wear my trench coat again but I was happy for this chance. There’s nothing like a good ol’ trench.

Do you love a good trench coat?
