Can you all believe that Christmas is over already? I know I
can’t. With the weather being in the 70s it didn’t even feel like Christmas to
me. Now all the Fa-La-La’s have been sung, Santa has come and gone, the presents have been exchanged and the New Year is right around the corner. It seems like
the older I get the faster the years fly by. Time truly waits for no man or
woman. The faster the years fly by the more I realize that you have to cherish
those special moments with friends and family and New Year’s Eve is definitely
one of those moments.
Over the years I have spent New Year’s Eve in more ways than
I can count. I have been to clubs, to the Peach Drop downtown
Atlanta, to church and some more. I am definitely a sociable person.
Any occasion to get dressed up, glamorous and fine is right up my alley. With
that being said New Year’s Eve has been one of those events that I can glam up
or glam down and hang tough with my family and friends. I have had some pretty
great NYE and some not so great ones but in post I am sharing some of my most memorable NYE. Here
we go:
- Up first we have the first NYE that I moved back to Georgia. New Year’s Eve 2012. 2012 was one of my most trying years ever! I hit pretty close to rock bottom but coming home I know that everything would be okay. My mom and I actually attended our church's Watch Night service. I remember crying so hard because I felt so thankful and blessed. The Lord had allowed me to make it through a year that I thought would break me but I was still standing. I get a little teary eyed just thinking about it.
- Next would have to be NYE 2010. My girls at MTSU and I decided that we would hit the road to Tunica, MS to go to the casino. And boy was it a trip! We got lost, it was raining and we literally made it to the casino minutes before the clock hit midnight but it was all good! We had a good time and I won a little money.
- Last would have NYE 2007. I know it’s a long time ago but it was the end to my first semester of college and I was home to kick it with my people. We decided to go down to the Peach Drop, which was my first and last time going. It was just a good time. We laughed, we joked we partied. We were still young and carefree and just to be around good people is always a plus for NYE.
What are your NYE memories?
