If you have been reading my blog since the beginning then there is one thing that you have probably noticed about me, I am a very frugal shopper. Clearance racks, BOGO sales, 50% sales, heck any sale is my best friend. Now I do splurge at times and pay full price for quality pieces and staple pieces or pieces that I feel I can’t live without but for the most part my closet is a big ol’ collection of red tags.  People ask me all the time how I am able to shop so often so today I am sharing one of my best tips with you all.

One of my biggest tips for shopping on a budget is to always check the clearance rack at the end of each season for transitional pieces for the next season. One of my go to place to dive through the clearance racks is Target. The thing with Target is that you can literally find items from all seasons on their clearance racks at any time of year and let’s be honest who doesn’t go into Target at least once a week, right? Or is that just me.

During one of my weekly Target runs a few weeks ago as I was perusing the clearance rack, looking of nothing specific but stumbled across this gorgeous off the shoulder dress by Ava & Viv. I kind of have a love hate relationship with floral prints but at 70% off I couldn’t pass this piece up. Plus I could easily see myself wearing this dress multiple ways throughout many seasons making it a great transitional piece. With the floral being a darker print and material not to thin this clearance pick up is perfect for fall or spring. 

Deciding to pair this beauty with a cute pair of suede nude heels and simple gold necklace makes its very acceptable for fall. Throw a shawl or blazer over it for those cool fall nights and this dress becomes the perfect fall date night look for a frugal girl such as myself.
